أعلن ممثلون عن فانيسا براينت، أرملة أسطورة كرة السلة الأميركية الراحل كوبي براينت، أنها "منهارة بالكامل" بسبب هتك خصوصية ضحايا حادثة تحطم المروحية التي أودت بحياة زوجها وابنتها جيانا وسبعة أشخاص آخرين في يناير/كانون الثاني الماضي.
وقال قسم دائرة الشرطة في مقاطعة لوس أنجلوس الجمعة إنه يحقق في تقرير نشرته صحيفة لوس أنجلوس تايمز يشير إلى أن مسؤولين قد نشروا صورا تظهر أشلاء الجثث التقطت بعد أيام على تحطم المروحية يوم 26 يناير/كانون الثاني الماضي في لوس أنجلوس.
وجاء في بيان لغاري روبن محامي فانيسا براينت نشرته الأخيرة عبر حسابها على إنستغرام، أنها طلبت خصيصا من مسؤولين في قسم الشرطة يوم تحطم المروحية أن يصنفوا المنطقة منطقة محظورة للطيران لمنع المصورين من الاستفادة من الحادثة الأليمة.
وقال البيان "كان ذلك مهما جدا بالنسبة لها لأنها رغبت في حماية كرامة كل الضحايا وعائلاتهم، في ذاك الوقت أكد لنا قائد الشرطة أليكس فيانويفا أنه سيتم اتخاذ كل التدابير لحماية خصوصية العائلات، وندرك أنه عمل بجهد لتلبية طلبنا".
وتابع البيان أن نشر صور الحادثة "هو انتهاك لا يوصف لكرامة واحترام الإنسان، وللحقوق الخصوصية للضحايا وعائلاتهم"، مضيفا أن براينت ومحاميها طالبا بتحقيق داخلي بما خص هذه المزاعم.

وأشار تقرير لوس أنجلوس تايمز الخميس الماضي إلى أنه من غير الواضح عدد الأشخاص الذين قد رأوا الصور أو ما إذا كان منتسبون إلى الشرطة قد التقطوا الصور في مكان الحادثة أو تلقوها من مصدر آخر، في حين أفاد موقع "تي أم زي"، الخاص بأخبار المشاهير والذي كان أول من نقل خبر مصرع برانيت منذ شهرين، بأن المزاعم ظهرت بعد ورود شكوى.
ونقل "تي أم زي" عن مصادر مجهولة في مجال تطبيق القانون أن متدربا في قسم الشرطة التقط صورا في موقع الحادثة عبر هاتفه الذكي، وقد سمعه أحد العاملين في حانة وهو يظهر الصور لأحد الزبائن، مما دفع بالموظف إلى التقدم بشكوى ضده.
